Sgt. Jennifer Lynch said Eversource security called police at about 5:15 a.m. to say two men were possibly on their property at 391 Pacific St., after being alerted by motion detectors on a closed circuit television.
Officers arrived and spotted two suspects with a shopping cart, Lynch said. They were arrested after a short foot pursuit, Lynch said. The items were taken from a Metro-North location adjacent to Eversource, she said. The scrap metal items were worth less than $500.
Gilberto Zepeda of 597 Pacific St., and Manuel Mateo, 37, of 32 Rose Park Ave., were each charged with second-degree criminal trespass, sixth-degree larceny and interfering with a police officer.
The bond was set at $500 each.
